Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner/Ontario
The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner/Ontario (IPC) is the independent oversight body responsible for educating the public concerning their rights under FIPPA and MFIPPA, and ensuring that organizations fulfill their obligations under these Acts.
The IPC has provided a page of links to organizations in other jurisdictions involved with Freedom of Information and/or the protection of privacy.
Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) is an oversight body independent of government that oversees compliance with two laws:
- Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada’s private sector privacy law
- Privacy Act, which covers the personal information-handling practices of federal government departments and agencies.
