Policies and Standards: Essential components of the I&IT Strategy
The I&IT Strategy (1998) was built around three essential components - a new I&IT organization, common infrastructure and policies, standards and legislations. Together, these components ensure that government can:
- manage the rate of growth in I&IT expenditure and
- enable business transformation initiatives and enterprise directions across ministries.
As the pace of change escalates and advances in technology create new opportunities and challenges, the development, implementation and updating of I&IT policies and standards continues to be a key focus for the Office of the Corporate Chief Information Officer (OCCIO).
