About the OPS Green Office
The OPS Green Office was created in September 2008 to help the Ontario government reduce its environmental footprint, green its operations and become a green leader for other employers..
The OPS Green Office provides strategic leadership by:
- Working collaboratively with government ministries to encourage environmentally sustainable practices in areas such as fleet management and travel;
- Identifying priorities and recommending standards and practices for green purchasing, consumption, management and disposal;
- Ensuring green strategies and initiatives are sustainable and can be rigorously measured and reported; and
- Providing a place for employees to learn more, share ideas and help transform the OPS into a green organization.
